Martin Hood
Clinical Psychologist

 

Martin Hood is a Clinical Psychologist registered to practice with the Psychologists Board of Australia. He is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and a Member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. He received a Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. His research focussed on the treatment of Spider Phobia. Following this he completed a three year Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, working with children, adults and in the justice system.

Martin provides clinical assessment and treatment of adults, couples and adolescents with a variety of issues. Martin’s interests include anxiety, anger, depression, OCD, grief and loss, cannabis use problems, eating disorders, stress management and couples therapy. Treatment is individualised for each person, and may include strategies from cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, positive psychology, motivational interviewing, grief counselling or emotion focussed therapy.
In his spare time, Martin likes to spend time with friends, go to movies, garden and have fun with his two dogs.
